Connecticut Abolishes the Death Penalty

Connecticut abolished the death penalty on April 25. Lawmakers who voted for the law said there were many cases in which those who hadn’t committed the crime were sentenced to death and that the penalty was administered unfairly. Seventeen other states and the District of Columbia have abolished the death penalty in recent years.
