Jill Guerra Jill Guerra is proud to be a Language Arts and Social Studies teacher of 4th and 5th grade public school students in Oakland, California. She holds a master’s degree in Teaching Critical Environmental and Global Literacy and has studied the role of the media and its influence on self and community image. In her limited spare time, she writes for a teacher blog, fundraises to bring resources to her school, dances Cuban salsa and Afro-Brazilian dance, and plays with her two-year-old grandson who calls her Abi. |

Isis Phillips Isis is the Financial Director at Democracy Now!, a daily TV/radio news program. As a volunteer with IndyKids, Isis trains and advises the staff on bookkeeping and financial matters. Isis holds a BFA from Marymount College and also studied Accounting and Finance at Baruch College. She has a passion for art and her photography has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions. Isis was born in Panama City and grew up in NYC. |

Bree Picower A former elementary school teacher, Bree is a leader of the New York Collective of Radical Educators (NYCoRE), a group of public school educators committed to fighting for social justice in our school system and society at large. She holds a PhD in education from New York University and is Assistant Professor of Education at Montclair State University in New Jersey. |
