Last year, IndyKids printed and distributed more than 50,000 copies of our newspaper. To help us get all those papers out to teachers, parents and kids, our dedicated volunteer staff counted papers, stuffed and sealed envelopes and helped mail out more than 600 subscriptions (that’s 25,000 papers)! Our volunteers also helped deliver the rest of the papers to community centers, businesses, libraries and schools in the New York City area the old fashioned way – by taking the subway!

Distribution is just one of the many tasks IndyKids volunteers undertake. Nearly all of IndyKids‘ work is done by volunteer staff. IndyKids volunteers work to develop content, write articles, reach out to social justice organizers, help with web administration and distribute the paper.
